Shan Toms To Depart The Blues

The club can announce that General Manager Shan Toms will depart the RDA Stadium at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Shan was appointed as General Manager in September 2020 and was named as a member of the Board of Directors in July 2021.

Reflecting on his time at the club, Shan noted

“It is with a heavy heart that I have decided the time is right to step away from my role as General Manager and Director of Bishop’s Stortford Football Club.

It has not been an easy decision, but I depart on the best of terms and the club will always have a place in my heart.

When I joined almost four years ago, I was given the remit of trying to make us a more professional outfit on and off the field and I feel we have achieved that, evidenced by some terrific FA Cup runs and, of course, lifting the Isthmian Premier League title last season.

During my time at the club, I am pleased to have helped stabilise the Academy set up, overseen increased engagement with the local community and remain especially proud of the role the club played as a vaccination centre during the difficult pandemic years.

I would like to place on record my thanks to the owners, fellow board members and current and former players for their help and guidance during my time at the RDA Stadium and extend a special thank you to our magnificent staff, volunteers and supporters for making these years such a special time in my career.

I hope to see you all at our final home game of the season against Curzon Ashton on Saturday 20th April.
