Welcome Steve Castle!

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Steve Castle as First Team Manager of Bishop’s Stortford Football Club.

Local man Steve brings with him an impressive wealth of experience having chalked up close to 500 Football League appearances in a distinguished 20 year playing career with the likes of Plymouth Argyle, Birmingham City, Peterborough Utd and Leyton Orient.  Steve represented the O’s on over 250 occasions and has been voted by Orient fans as the club’s greatest ever Captain.

After a knee injury brought an end to his on-field career, Steve switched to the dugout where he spent two years as Cambridge Utd Assistant Manager before taking up the reins at St Albans City.

The UEFA ‘A’ Licensed coach spent three years at Clarence Park before taking charge of our neighbours Takeley for two seasons.
In 2013, Steve took charge of Royston Town and spent a successful decade at the Crows, guiding them to promotion to the Southern League Central Premier as well as lifting the Southern League Challenge Cup.

Reflecting on his appointment, Steve said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to manage Bishop’s Stortford Football Club. I’m very excited to get going and look forward to meeting the fans soon!”

Please join us in welcoming Steve Castle to the RDA Stadium!
