Pre-Season Friendly

St Ives Town scored a late goal to seal a 3-2 win over Bishop’s Stortford in a pre-season friendly match on Tuesday night.
The Blues went ahead inside four minutes when a corner wasn’t cleared and a trialist forward cut the ball back from the left into space with Tyrone Baker finishing through a crowded six-yard box. Number four for the hosts equalised 20 minutes later with a long range dipping strike that went in off the woodwork, before number 17 was left free in the box to finish from close range after neat build-up on the wing.
HT 2-1
High pressing led to Fabio Viriciglio winning the ball back, he slid a pass through to Aaron Greene – a half-time substitute – who took the ball round the defender and slotted home into the bottom corner. St Ives scored the winner when a left wing cross was nodded down into space at close range, but the Blues players were aggrieved thinking the ball had gone out of play behind for a goal kick.
